I was wondering the same way when the STAAAR team had started working on the Caduceus device despite already having the working Yoke device.

P.S.
I don't buy that this was caused by a lack of a decent signal generator.

Let's test this assumption right now:

This is completely unnecessary - you are not being attacked personally.
The questioning of your science is nothing to be offended at - I would be appreciative in your place for that.
Even more so for an offer of free equipment that can be used to get to the truth.
