This is a experiment on a 1kw generator using wood gas to power the unit.

That is really nice Tommey.... so I know exactly whats going on here, its a run of the mil gasifier hooked up to a bubbler (to get rid of the tar and icky stuff that screws up engines) then straight to the generator... I like it!!

A second bubbler would be great! ... i wonder if you put 3 bubblers, would it slow the performance much??

TommeyLReed

I found that a bubblier acts also as a cooler too, as you may know the wood gas needs to be cooled down before entering the engine.
That is also why its very small, and did not need a heat exchange in the system
I plan to build a 10kw bio-mass generator gasifier system this summer.

I was planning on doing what you did... but I was discouraged by all the down sides :( ... i.e damaging the generator with tar and other stuff .... burning the wrong bio mass.... etc etc...

With the setup that you have, does the engine suffer any ill effects? or you don't know because not enough time has elapsed yet?

I would be keen to know if by simply having one or two bubbliers, it would prevent any damage to the generator?? your input would be much appreciated. :)

I was wondering if anyone has thought of using an hho electolyzer to help add efficiancy and eliminate some of the problems that are associated with the tar entering the genset. I have asked a few questions on other parts of the forum and can't seem to find anyone thagts played with idea. Any thoughts?
