Remember, you lost some twist because the magnet on the rod twisted some in flexing the rod, so you need to adjust the magnet on the turntable slightly to re-calibrate the neutral point.

Because the suspended magnet is now off center of the turntable, the table will rotate from any attraction or repel to the suspended magnet on the rod.

Way too simple!

This design has been in my head as  a stroke of genious ....and your design Begs for a closer look and trial test/experiment.

Well, I just tested the two sphere design and ZIP.... nothing 
I was sure this was the key but it seems the two sphere secret is safe with Tom.

Something there but just cant pin point it.

Hi Lumen,

Don't be sure that you are incorrect just yet.

Keep in mind that it is DIFFICULT to identify poles on spheres and then, keep them
orientated that way.

I followed your description and thought, this isn't half bad.

Certainly, gravity, with Tom's first incarnation is easier to picture but, all of my large ring
magnets appear to have spots (areas) that are not consistent. (taken from large loud speakers).

Persist, I think you will be surprised.

I agree with Penno,
One question,why Brass?,We see the Magnet and Copper have a "Huge" Lenz Issue [the sphere in the copper/aluminum tube drop],Brass Not that far away from Copper!

Probably a silly point at this point ,But?
