  Although the Doc has many videos out in the last few years, the series on the PSEC that were made about two years ago were the ones dealing with a self runner.
The P in PSEC is refering to "pasive", having no external input source.

  Here is a video showing GBluer's replication attempt of the Stiffler PSEC circuit. There were many attempts, made by several people. But, only a few guys could make that device or similar ones self run.

  But, the main point of my bringing this up is the Docs self running device's tuning methods, which are similar to what we may have to go through to sync up the frequencies.
That however, is a vast subject, but worth looking into.

  Hoppy and All:  I got my Kacher working now, so that it will add more brightness to the grenades output. I also adjusted the Kacher frequency with ferrite rod inserted inside the former pipe. A small ac bulb on the grenade's output will strongly react too hand movements near the excited field. Even the yoke coils are very affected by the Kacher.  But, I still have Much more tuning to go.
  I also notice some variations, as in the Doc's video, with time of day, or night, etz.. or how many drinks I've had....

Thanks for jogging my memory on the PSEC. I now recall that this device was steeped in controversy, in that there was a strong opinion that Dr. Stiffler was picking up a strong radio frequency or man made EMI, which accounted for replication failures. nonetheless, these devices were fascinating in that the doctor talked about a special frequency being responsible that has been known about for a hundred or so years. I guess he was referring to the Schumann resonance. IMO the PSEC is not self-running any more than a crystal set radio receiver. However, if it were possible to establish that the PSEC was being energised by natural energy, such as cosmic rays or geomagnetic waves, then I'm prepared to accept it as a genuine self-runner.

Good work Nick. You are now able to investigate the effect that the kacher has on the grenade coil.

Remember from previous posts, that there will be a particular loading that will impedance match to your Mazilli, thus why you see the odd effect on the small bulb when adding and removing the other bulbs. Try experimenting with various size ferrite cores to enhance and optimise the 'switching' effect on the bulb brightness by moving the ferrite very slowly through the Kacher coil former to hit resonant 'sweet spots'. Also, as part of the tuning process, try adding straight wire length to the open end of the antenna, so as to alter 'top loading'.
