I got that feeling too, why the metal box and a metal hard ware switch, it's just an opto triac in a metal box and a current limit resi he's connecting to a battery, with mains on the other side with a low wattage bulb on it, init ? ;-) notice the Arni type image, it's a piss take do you think we    should applaud him for thinking out side the box ?!

On a more serious note, earlier on this year I did some interesting experiments with a couple of Copper earth rods.

One experiment, undocumented, was using a fully isolated UPS to drive scope and signal generator. I made a common ground with scope and SG then injected a sinusoidal signal into the remote rod, about 5 M apart, at certain higher frequencies I saw that my received signal was greater in amplitude than the sent one, as I got up towards 1 MHz there were distinct areas. Sadly my SG runs out of puff at 1 MHZ so further investigation was impossible.

Perhaps someone could " pick up the gauntlet " so to speak. Try pulses instead of sinus signal ? But most importantly the effect seemed to get better the higher the frequency.

Re: the last 240 low res device....
there are at least 2 red wires and a black wire also going to the toroid; I think probably that the outer 2 white wires are connected to other wires and just pass through/are resting in the toroid... and then come out; but impossible to tell really stepped with single steps - and even though it's low res it's also highly compressed.  (the two white wires from the grenade should eventually end up at the power output box.

Certainly a non-standard toroid transformer winding pattern.  I know T-1000 has mentioned having magnetic fields at 90 degrees to each other before.  Sure wish I fully understood what effect this has.

Also when he starts this device, I hear a relay clacking--probably the device directly above toroid in the picture below.  I'm guessing it is a bell ringer with the bells removed with a purpose of making back-spikes.  These spikes are also present (though created electronically) in the Dally, Kapanadze, Ruslan and Akula devices.
