Now an idea is needed why the meter here is running backwards when a welder is in action.

Does the welder simply cheat the meter, or does the welder indeed generate electric energy pushing it into the grid?

Question for Verpies or other knowledgeable EEs.
If a bifilar coil is wound over a standard coil will it double the voltage or frequency?


It's not a trick question, I simply don't know the answer.

ha ha! draw the fundamental wave on some paper, then draw the wave at twice the speed. where you original goes negative your device will have no power so it's still the same frequency with a different mark space ratio.

But there is a trick to it ! but not that way, rectify it and just re-modulate it at a different frequency but that does nothing for the power at all

Many thanks for the patent link....... Did you spot the top left hand corner?   There's no reference to...

" No model " suggesting DMC presented a working device for Patent approval ?

Two Microwave oven transformers don't work, got the tee shirt! But yes I think your 3 phase welding transformer, with a bit of doctoring might.

For anyone interested in looking deeper into the DMC device I suggest looking at an old book " Davis manual of electricity and magnetism " you will find the exact same coils that DMC used.

Actually the output of a welder (the secondary coil) is short-circuited during welding. So we have a transformer with a shorted secondary coil (few windings with bulky wire) running at high amps. Does this remind us of something?

Yes it does. It reminds us of the bulky (hot) wire of the Barbosa device. Funny coincidence, isn't it?

So is the Barbosa device perhaps a simple welding transformer? Anyway, the Barbosa device seems to need a short circuit running hot in order to work.

And how many coincidences do we still need until we find something that works without guessing? Do we need high voltage and ionization, or do we need different metals, or do we need frequency doubling, or do we need a simple short circuit? Or do we need all together??
