The only problem that you have got is that E/M fields are demonstrated to be vector quantities not scalar quantities.  That fact is reinforced daily by the millions of correct results generated by models based on the vector field model.  Good luck designing circuit board traces that work at GHz frequencies using the scalar ideas.  But you boys go right ahead and have all the fun you want in your imaginary scalar world.

Lots of unintuitive things are possible that don't seem so at first blush.  As in this case no existing laws are broken.
