What part of  IN EVERY COIL don't you understand?  The Tesla Bifilar coil simply includes within itself an increased capacitance, so its self-resonant frequency will simply be lower than that of a normally wound coil. THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT of Telsa's patent. A normally wound coil, combined with a little bit of external capacitance, can be made to match the self-resonant frequency of the TBC. When this is done the resulting magnetic fields, for a given amount of current, are equal.  You ONCE AGAIN are misrepresenting the truth, due to your lack of understanding of it.

I've seen pictures of the kind lash wrapped Bifilars over threaded zinc screws etc. you guys slapped up for the magnetic field test. That kind of crap won't ring. There's no way you can get the single wire coil to permanently magnetize the nail as strongly as the Bifilar does.

I knew more about the Bifilar coil then "Tesla-Coil-Builder" before I encountered his instructions. The test dosen't work the way he described. I figured out a way to get it to work. Wrap a tight Bifilar on a smooth surface iron nail, snap chage it to ring, set it aside over night, and magically a permanent magnet will appear! This has nothing what-so-ever to do with your failed "retard" tests.

An A.C. sine wave does the work on the nail. The Bifilar is an A.C. electro-magnet! The coil works in resonance and in combination with sine wave current at the Bifilar's self resonating frequency. The self oscillation is generating an A.C. signal. What sence does it make to run D.C. current into it? People will be astonished by the A.C. magnetic strength from the Bifilar if they apply the correct current.

The resonating coil is generating it's own native magnetic field. We get to magnify it with synchronous current. Mystery solved. The "Scrap Yard Magnet". An industrial bulwark for over a century.

The input current to the oscillating field has to match it to reinforce it! The Bifilar in resonance generates it's own oscillating magnetic field. All that's left is to augment it with an isomorphic signal. The Bifilar A.C electro-magnet coil works in resonance only, with A.C. input at the self resonant frequency. D.C. current won't work period.

We start out with a naturally oscillating magnetic field. We need to input an oscillating current that's in phase with it to strengthen it. That's how the coil works.

Scrap iron can't tell the difference between the magnetic poles. It's attracted equally to both sides. It can't distinguish between a stationary and an oscillating magnetic field.
