I machined precision ceramic components for the Tokomak.  I made many trips to Princeton back in those days.  The physicists there seemed very pleased with their results and told me it was working just as they had predicted.  Two of them told me that they had actually measured, although in very, very small amounts, more energy out then they supplied to the unit.  That is what they told me.  I did not see any Nobel prizes awarded to them for this so, I am not sure what to believe.  Also, this was back in the 80's.

And it is because of the small yet promising results that they continue to fund Tokamaks (again, politics and greed aside).  I do however wish they would have spread the "eggs" throughout a few other "fusion baskets".

P.S: Agree PW, Science is important.

Geologists say it appears to be a groundwater related slide more so than a crack opening up due to tectonics.

Fortunately, your several predictions of imminent doom have not been all that accurate...
