This is what I got from GPT4:

To turn a Simple Machines Forum (SMF) 2.0.19 database into an offline searchable database, you would typically go through the following steps:

1. Export the Database: Use the database management tool (like phpMyAdmin) to export the SMF database to a SQL file.

2. Set Up a Local Database Server: Install a database server like MySQL or MariaDB on your local machine.

3. Import the Database: Use the local database management tool to import the SQL file into your local database server.

4. Set Up a Local Web Server: Install a web server like Apache or Nginx, and configure it to serve the SMF files.

5. Configure SMF: Update the Settings.php file in your SMF installation to point to your local database.

6. Use a Custom Search Solution: To make the database searchable without the SMF frontend, you could use a custom solution like a small PHP script that uses SQL LIKE queries, or integrate a full-text search engine like Elasticsearch.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of these steps:

Step 1: Export the Database
Log in to your web hosting control panel and open phpMyAdmin.
Select your SMF database from the left sidebar.
Go to the "Export" tab.
Choose the export method (typically "Quick" is sufficient for a simple backup).
Select the format (usually SQL).
Click on "Go" and save the SQL file to your computer.

*** If you don't have the energy to do more, I can do the rest if you just host that file somewhere. ***

Step 2: Set Up a Local Database Server
Download and install a database server like MySQL or MariaDB.
Run the server on your local machine.

Step 3: Import the Database
Open your local database management tool (phpMyAdmin, MySQL Workbench, etc.).
Create a new database.
Import the SQL file that you exported from your live server.

Step 4: Set Up a Local Web Server
Download and install a web server like XAMPP, WAMP, MAMP, or LAMP which will include PHP and a database server.
Place your SMF files into the htdocs or www directory of your web server.

Step 5: Configure SMF
Update the Settings.php file in your SMF directory with your local database details.

Step 6: Use a Custom Search Solution
If you don't want to run the full SMF stack:

Write a simple PHP script (or use another programming language) that connects to your database and executes a SELECT statement with a LIKE clause to perform searches.
For a more robust search, consider using a full-text search engine like Elasticsearch or Apache Solr. You would need to index your database contents into Elasticsearch or Solr and then query it from your custom search interface.
Security Note
If this local setup is for personal use, it's typically fine to run it on your own computer without too much concern for security. However, if you plan to distribute this offline searchable database or use it on a network, you should consider security measures to protect the data, especially since forum databases can contain sensitive user information.

Hi Stefan,

As fellow Berliner, i can offer you the continuity of this forum. I am also a member here also for years now.
As you might remember, i am the administrator of the www.ionizationx.com forum.
I am not in the business of making money of a forum, but i can promise the continuity of your work.
I can offer you a box of beer and a handshake and a promise.
Nobody else on this community can offer the same history on managing a forum, as i have.
Its up to you. Again, we can have a talk and a beer, as i also live in Berlin.
In the mean while, i wish you all the best and hope that you will stay with us for a long time.

best regards
Steve

I'm afraid  Stefan  wanted more than beer.
Realistically with all do respect  Steve:
You are educated forum operator but it doesn't look like  you are  that successful as Stefan was.

I'm in here for  13 of very active years.
I could buy Stefan forum even today evening, with no negotiation if I decide that I have time  for it.

I offered to this forum thousands of hours of mostly heavily science based value with no drift into
Surrealism, BS,
- with mostly realistic  evaluation of most of Russian based revelations even if exchanging my opinion with Stefan
was  not easy.

You seem to have made most members of this forum your enemies, not through science or false promises thereof, but through what extra you brought of yourself.
What future could you offer the forum let alone its original mission, short of paying members a hefty fair hourly fee to hang out at your place?
Stefan is deeply respected in this community, for what he's stood for. With money, you might buy minions, but not voluntary members. If you want to help, donate the money (way more than Stefan is asking as a minumum to a respected member who's up for the job and have yourself banned for life. I'd respect that actually.

This is way too complicated now and that would also only run on my PC...So this does not help to keep the content alive all over the Internet...

User Cloxxki suggested that it is stored anyway in the Webarchive.org but the question is how long...
Well we probably need a setup where the content is automatically moved to a blockchain like Hiveor ICP or something simular...but in my state of health I can't do this anymore...
Therefore we need the younger folks which are good programmers, that can help with it..
Regards, Stefan.
