FE is iron wire.
I had two tests for this. The first one was in parallel with the internal horizontal loops. The second one was FE through the center toroids. Either way they both receive.
I keep repeating that this thing is extremely noisy. It is a huge charge pump/ center of stun gun circuit. And it can be built using Radio shack parts like SM stated.
SM stated that all circuitry must be in the middle of the device. I still laugh at this remark. Of course. Where else would you put the antenna?
In the middle meant both inside the verticals and in the device center. He sure did play with words to get the configuration and protocol exposed.
In the LTPU demo in the hotel room SM swipes a cabinet magnet around the outer side. Mid way he lets go and it sticks! So he showed iron wire and the switching of the battery to resonant power.
Now here is the item that I never saw covered and that was the device never runs a long time. SM mentioned heat build up but he could also have been eluding to entropy.
And no telling if he was pointing out resonance. He did mention be careful of getting the two frequencies close. He did mention the exploding TV so I sincerely believe he knew what he was talking about and capable of.
So in response to Bob Smith's remarks, heterodyning can be a positive or negative factor.
I know in all my tests heterodyning really caused a lot of problems and not that that was bad. I have all new equipment on my bench. LOL.  And after 2 scopes, 2 meters, a truck, 5 neighbor's cable routers and one divorce. Its all fun and games till somebody takes offense of the mystery.
@MasterPlaster: refresh my mind about the heat up. I did post about the neon starters needing to warm up. I have a setup where the outer primary has a neon starter in series. They glow at startup but then after warmup they really chatter. I use that to test the reception of the windings. With what I have now is on that output bridge if you exclude a filter cap the LED lights bright off the peaks of the oscillations where with a cap the LED is dimmer due to just running RMS. ...naturally because the cap diminishes the high spikes. A way better method to test than delicate bench equipment.
If this is not what you meant let me know. And cheap Stun gun oscillators are not meant to run continuously either. I have hemi'd mine up.
