One of the things I am working on is using a quasi-SMOT on a low friction wheel (bicycle wheel) where the SMOT occupies a quarter of the revolution from 12:00 to 3:00 in a clockwise rotation.  The idea here is to have a steel ball mounted to an adjustable height rod attached to the circumference of the wheel such that the sphere enters the SMOT and, hopefully, accelerates at least a little and uses gravity and certain angles to drop out of the SMOT sticky spot at the 3:00 position and...maybe...complete the rotation to begin again.  My apparatus is about 60% completed and I hope to begin testing within a week or so.  If this will work, I believe that very fine adjustments will be the answer...if there is an answer.

I am not too familiar with the Gauss gun.  I take it this is a series of magnets that accelerate a ball and shoots it out of the end of the gun barrel?  Why is there no sticky spot at the end of the barrel with this design?  Unless, of course, it is comprised of a series of electromagnets firing in order...then no sticky spot but power required.  I am fascinated by all of this.
