Can somebody give us a tip, I'm not all that familiar with the file formats, etc.

I downloaded the file TPU DVD.z01,   from the link Rob posted,  so what do I need to do to view it?  My computer doesn't know what to open it with. (Windows XP)

many thanks for providing this.
I have already downloaded 4 parts of it and viewed
the first 2 minutes and the video is in real nice 720x480 res in 9.4 MBits MPEG2
and 29.97 frames/sec and 256 Kbits Dolby Audio.
Also there is no logo embeded ontop the video,
so a real nice quality. Definately to go for.

Probably a 1:1 copy made via a DVD recorder from a 2nd generation VHS tape
in the highest bitrate mode of the DVD recorder.

Em,
you first have to download TPU DVD.zip
from page 2
and then all the other parts and then you can unzip
this first part via WInZIP or Winrar
and the other parts will be automatically unziped into a big 1 GBytes
VOB file.
The VOB files can be played via Mediaplayer Classic or
VLC ( videolan.org)
Hope this helps.
P.S: To convert the video further get
VOB2MPG freeware and extract the pure MPEG2 file which
you can convert further with
any modern video editing program or use
VirtualDubMod
to convert to DIVX AVI or simular codecs.

Hi Everyone,

Just so you know, I just got the torrent set up not to long ago. It has been up and running now for a couple of hours with about 9 people in the swarm. I was just waiting for a few people to get some of the file before opening it up to everyone else (so the swarm speed will be higher and not load my computer).

As for using MediaShare, I'll still try to upload the rest of the video pieces there (part two is incomplete at the moment because I am seeding the torrent), but I will add the rest there after a few days of seeding for everyone. I want to start a new thread for information on the video and the link to the torrent. I also am going to include a few screen shots from the video to compare with the old one so you can all see what's happening. Am writing the post for the new thread now and will have it available in just a bit :-).
