This should handle any problems with the zip you are having.

However if you can afford it Original authour Eugene Roschel did a damn good job at file compression WinRar is very good file compression utility.

But dont bash 7zip till you try it at one time it was achiving some of the best compression rates it may still be ...
I havent had the need to compress files for a while.
