It looks like it has ended. Steorn's web site is down. Even the forums is offline which is surprising, considering that they have managed to build quite active community over there...

one might consider that steorn maybe did actually have something, but as with many others preparing to burst onto the scene with proof, they were nicely and firmly "asked" to sabotage their own work, or turn their efforts to something that does not threaten the energy industry. (I cite Xogen (Stan Meyer) as a perfect example)
