After playing with Archers SOG and Mondrasek's MGW gravity wheel I got to think that there has got to be an easier way of shifting this weight.

Hence the Buoyancy and Gravity idea.

I quickly bodged some leaky pipes and stuck them on the wheel as below.
This is not an exact science, but I reckon this could show promise.

Couple of pictures and Video below.

Will try and seal those pipes better( All the wine bottles these days do not seem to have corks LOL ) and put some weight in the tubes.

Let us know what you think.

Cheers

Sean.

All you have is a balance, water weight displacement only replaces the weight it shifts up. You have to look at it as just tubes of water and even when the shifted is lighter the water is heavier and it goes in the wrong direction to get any use from it.

You are a good man and willing to work which is obvious. I am going to invite you to work with me on a project if you like.
With out a dream, there can be no vision.

Clanzer,  As usual your work and ideas are great.  I remember on this forum long ago a similar but "inverted" idea where the entire rotating assemble was under water and the tubes had air.

One thing to think about would be a mechanical or magnetic "latching" of the weights so they to not float to the top until 12.

Keep it up....very interested.

Thanks,

Hankinator

ROFL  ;D ;D

Hey the only way I learn is to try myself!!!!

I just made up some new water tight tubes and see exactly what you mean now !!!

All good fun. Thanks for the offer AB but I done the non public projects before and tend to stick to the public ones these days.

Cheers

Sean.

The idea is good but i think the water mass is higher then the lifted content so that cannot really work unless I am missing something.

Nice experiment anyway. :)
