@ jantje: the video has been put together by "realstrannik" (http://realstrannik.ru/). He is trying to follow the "research" process from TK's device then to next-energy's ex admin (SR) and what happened in the mean time. I try to follow both forums and it appears that though the initial goal seems clear, the path gets lost along the way, and this was confirmed to me by more than one user through pms.
Though people still claim, for ex., that SR's device is completely different respect to TK's green box, SR himself, more than once, clearly followed a path of replication of TK's device and all the traces are still on his ex forum (and "hronotron" who apparently also managed to achieve a functioning device). Unfortunately he deleted all his videos and some data he had posted though a lot of messages are still present. The Bulgarian user "madsat" has come the closest to replicating his schematic, then somehow steered away. SR made some very interesting comments about the behaviour of his TCs and the way he interpreted "resonance". On the next-energy forum more than one person stated that he had achieved some form of OU (such as the user SOS-SOS) though no video or confirmation has yet been given.
   It appears that something has been missed in SR's (and TK's) coil arrangement which has forbidden the correct replication of this device. The hint comes from Tesla's fuelless generator and Linde's design which are "open" systems (they use the environment as source of energy). TK calls it an "etherodynamic" process.
In any case, more than one person confirmed that there are misdirection attempts on both forums.

    You where also right the first time. Patent #729,812 belongs to Matthew O Troy filed Dec. 5, 1902. Why Tesla refers to this patent number as his must be a typo. Odd that this made it into the patent papers because #729,812 will not be filed for another 2 years.  I guess the proof reader must of been having a bad day.  .

I do not believe you are reading what's written in the patent 685,953, page 4, line 88 to line 95:

"I do not claim herein an apparatus by means of which the above-described method is or may be practiced either in the special form herein shown or in other forms which are possible, having made claims to such apparatus in another application, Serial No. 729,812, filed September 8, 1899, as a division of the present case.".

I have bolded the part you must pay attention to. Application Serial Number (APN) is a different thing than patent number (PN). Unfortunately USPTO does not have a searchable database of APN prior to 1976.

In any case, it is imperative to read what's written, though people most of the time see what they wish to see.

Regarding Kapanadze Green Box device,

Has anyone thought that the spark-gap is not required for the operation instead it is a voltage protection safety?

So basically Don Smith creeps up again? Maybe TK did not have access to a GDT (surge protector)

Looking at TK's "green box" spark gap then, the potentials across it are pretty measly as the gap distance appears low, suggesting the currents/discharges are not that high or powerful either.

I doubt there's much wind in his back yard to cause that arc to fluctuate as it is, so the above must hold true.
