Hey Penno, this should be right up your alley.

I went back and played with the SR modulator circuit today using a NTE40106B hex inverter and when I raise the supply voltage to 13 volts, the pin 2 output goes to 20 - 22 MHZ which is the NMR of Fe 56.

It didn't matter what I used for a cap and the circuit basically worked like a VCO only the supply pin was the voltage. For the resistor, I used a 20K and I accurately measured the sine output on a 100mhz digital scope and frequency counter.

Since I think anyway, that is well beyond the range of that chip, is this a flaw in the chip what is being exploited? That should be an exact replacement for the russian inverter.

The inverter stage after that is to form the 50-60hz so you have a 21mhz modulated 60hz carrier. That translates into NMR every time.

I'm off to the parts store to buy a proper modulator / mixer and maybe someone can point me at a Colpitts that will run at 21mhz. I seem to recall you doing a bunch of work on the Stiffler CE stuff.

The first thing that needs to get done is the driver circuitry. Everything else is worthless without that part being right.

Only in a 0.5 Tesla field. NMR is expressed as frequency per Tesla and is not a fixed frequency.
