@verpies, it looks pretty genuine. If powered through pipe then still has no return, also powers up slowly and turns off in time to click from switch. Also turning it off was an after thought and not staged I think the camera man said to turn it off. Man in trainers also touches water pipe while standing in snow.
I am working through the wiring connections of components using vid stills.

I am happy to read that you are using logical arguments to justify your conclusion and not just blind faith.

Analyzing video stills is hard work. Please note that such analysis would not be successful with this video1 and this video2.

@verpies, thanks for the two vids, I may be naive but did not realize idiots are out there with stupid scams. Now I understand why Hoppy is always looking for the hidden batteries and wires. Why do these people bother ?

That's a psychological question and I am not good at it at all. This forum has members with degrees in psychology that would be better qualified to answer this question.
It has been suggested in this thread, that most of "stupid scams" are done for fame and attention and some of them are done for profit.

I noticed that children can go to great lengths to obtain attention (both good and bad attention) - perhaps that is a property of human nature.

Now on a more scientific side:
1) Hidden batteries can always be discovered with energy density measurements, without opening the device under test.
2) External power supply (e.g. cable masquerading as grounding wire) can be discovered with system isolation and shielding.
3) In an absence of a self-runner, OU can only be determined by a proper I/O power measurement (calorimetric, Fd, radiative or multiplicative). Unfortunately most claimants multiply Amps*Volts thinking that the results is Watts (power) without realizing that this is always true only for pure DC.  This misconception creates the majority of OU false-positives.

Unfortunately almost no one is diligent enough to take care of these three basic points

It seems to me pointless to show a video with a cable / wire disappearing into the ground, pipe or whatever and expect people to accept that the device on demo is operating without an external power supply.
