In other words, to me it would be like laying a plug near a wall socket outlet, it is close but you won't get any electricity until you plug into the outlet.

Just dont forget induction. You can light up a fluorescent bulb by holding it close to high voltage lines. That leaves earth currents out. A direct connection would be needed.

I have thought about the metal exposure areas within the EER cells
I think if we can expose a larger area of the zinc to bring it as close as possible to the copper area inside the copper pipe, then we will pick up more ma's

I just don't know what to use to do this with right now, betta think about this for a bit.

In my own experiences with copper pipe - galvanized nails/pipes, I have seen large increases in mA's by simply increasing surface area. Initial cells I made were exactly like FreePows (12" copper pipe w/ 8" galvanized nail on interior). For single cells I left outside diameter of copper bare. When I had multiple cells I used electrical tape on outside diameters of copper instead of FreePows PVC. Things improved dramatically when I used copper pipe with galvanized pipe on interior with .125-.250" gap in between them. Just like a regular battery, this style will improve greatly with surface area being increased.

I have also experimented with something quite different that radically increases surface area while retaining similar overall package size. Basically I took copper washers and galvanized washers and stacked them on a galvanized bolt (with a very small space between the washers). Galvanized washers were in direct contact with galvanized bolt thus attaching all galvanized together. Copper washers were all tied together via soldered wire. If you perform surface area calculations you will see that you can radically increase area with this construction. Due to limited copper washer suppy I could not build a very big version of this but it clearly outperformed my original pipe/nail combination and double pipe combination. I spent a lot of time with these types of constructions before shifting into Stubblefield design. I am half tempted to revisit this washer construction in a more full sized configuration but it will wait because I have to many irons in the fire as it is right now. Copper washers a bit hard to find. If I did revisit this it would most likely be in another voltaic chemistry having easier to find materials.

Other things I have tried with this style earth battery is to add permanent magnets into the equation. My original goal was to place magnets directly in ground in order to increase local magnetic field strength along earth magnetic field directional vector. The soil I was in was heavy clay which I know to have good amounts of aluminum silicates in it. Aluminum is a paramagentic material. So the theory was to tag onto frequency of earth magnetics, increase field strength, transfer through earth battery via paramagnetic properties of my soil and observe results. Magnets were set in an attract mode and spacing was varied. Again, standard pipe style earth battery (1 galvanized, 1 copper) was employed. Basically I was trying to see what Stubblefield may have been doing when he tried rare earth due to lack of time. I am thinking that I need to get one of these scopes. Can anyone recommend one that isn't too expensive?

I think the washers idea is a plain voltaic pile is it not?

I also had the idea which we discussed a while back that the copper and iron wires needed to be stacked.
The part I could not do was to make layers stay where they belong.
I think if you can figure this part out you might have a really good stubblefield generator.
And really it might only take a drill press and some precision tools to make it work.

There is another explanation of the DC volts other than a battery action.  Little is published or researched about earth currents.  My feeling is that a good portion is composed of cold electricity and orgone.  Cold electricity may actually be concentrated orgone energy.  I believe it was Henry Moray would demonstrate his device by  putting a plate of glass between the wire and the light bulb and it would still light.  It flowed right through the glass.  In the Joe Cell type orgone energy, it was found a separation of two inches was needed between contacts to shut an engine down to prevent runaway.  If all this is true, then the thin wall of PVC would be nothing to prevent the flow of this type energy.  We have to determine is if the DC is ordinary battery action or is a constant source of orgone type energy. 

This is a good experiment.  Keep a load on the PVC cell and see if it decays with time.  Or, it stays at full level?  If it stays up, then energy is flowing through the PVC.  I would like to see it stay up.  Because then it will support my theory that the Stubblefield earth battery is an orgone generator.  All the facts point to it in the later years of his life and what he was doing.

Everyone is doing good work here, it is very interresting.

However I have 1 question, when Nathan Stubblefield placed his gadget ( ) in the earth, did he lay it horizontal or vertical?

I am asking, because I think a iron bolt will work more efficiently one way, then the iron windings would be at 90 degrees to the iron bolt, am I off target or have I opened another can of worms .
