Hi I have a new idea for a device to generate energy.  However it need to change the linear motion of a spring to rotational motion, does any one know how to achieve this.  Also, since the spring is oscillating half the time it will be rotating in one direction and half the time in another, is there a way to make it rotate in only one direction?  Thanks

All internal combustion engines and steam engines convert linear motion to rotary motion as well sterling engines have some neat adaptations to do this as well.
Knowledge without Use and Expression is a vain thing, bringing no good to its possessor, or to the race.

This is the bane of the motor industry. Why must you do this?
Could you not generate electricity directly off the oscillating
linear motion with coils etc?

Hello

Has anyone actually tried building this device from the plans? I am considering buying a set and would appreciate hearing others' experiences.

Many thanks
