There is the kind of economy that exists to protect the "right" of profit,as does our present public economy:this sort of economy will inevitably gravitate towards the protection of the "rights" of those who profit most.
Our present public economy is really a political system that safeguards the private exploitation of public wealth and health.The other kind of economy exists for the protection of gifts...and this is the economy of community,which now has nearly been destroyed by the public economy.
The supreme court decision to remove all limits on campaign contributions has allowed those with the most money to virtually buy elections in America.Few Americans are aware how they are enslaved by an economy of greed.This is evidenced by how quick they are sucked in by politicians claiming to be pro-life who are actually bought and paid for by wealthy corporate interests.

I thought this was a really great book and wanted to share it here.There is a need to change the way we view each other.I used to think of homelessness as being just the result of bad personal choices.It seems our present economy has produced a crisis of homelessness unparalleled since the great depression of the 1930s.Many families with children are homeless too.





What happens when we are on mars or the moon?Will we have homeless people there too?

Welcome, NZavaloff.   Good to have you here.   I started this thread about(?)    2 1/2 years ago and have been contributing to it as I can, like you.   triffid is doing the main work of posting and is doing a great job of it, too.
       You might start looking at some of the posts and see what you think of what's there.   Questions?   Always glad to answer them and help if I can.
