Ths is what really excites me.There is talk of some kind of matter to energy conversion going on here.If so then we can light the darkest and heat up the coldest places in the universe with energy from matter.

In my opinion it is just a confirmation of what Jeo Newman has discovered and
there are really tiny gyroscopic particels ( the particels  or waves that are the magnetic
field lines) converted into energy, so we have a very tiny small mass to energy conversion.
But as it is E= m * c^2 it is so powerful.

I have never thought of magnetic lines as forms of matter.I would guess it could be so since they come from matter(as an extension of matter).Since you in theory could bash magnetic lines together at the speed of light.Maybe there is a small matter to energy conversion going on here?triffid

A New Age source I read about around 30 years ago... (they might not be around now, but I forgot who they were, anyway) ...said if you take two laser beams and point them directly at each other, turn them on simultaneously with equal power and brightness, they'll self-create nuclear and/or subatomic particles where the beams meet or possibly? interface.

I know for a fact that lightening during a thunder storm creates natural radioactive isotopes.Most have half lives of less than 70 hours.So these decay rather quickly as opposed to manmade isotopes which have half lives that are measured in years,not hours.Lightening of course is very bright.As far as I know no one has looked into how lightening forms these isotopes.Maybe this is a new project for a nuclear chemist out there?
I have often thought that since all elements could have have started from hydrogen that maybe all elements could be converted back into hydrogen?.This way we could take air into our car engines convert those gases into hydrogen.Use additional oxygen to burn the hydrogen .All of this using our atmosphere as a fuel tank.I have always wondered about matter into energy devices most always mentioned in science fiction.We are stlll very much in the dark when it comes to magnets.And that goes for light/matter interactions too.triffid

There are some very exciting new jobs for lasers.One new job I know about is in the area of transmitting power for the proposed space elevator that so many are working on.A ground laser power station beams power to the
cargo carrying platform.Lasers can reach beyond the atmosphere so they could transmit light energy to solar cells on the bottom of the platform.Go to u-tube type in space elevator and see what you find.triffid
