How I would build a wind turbine

This unit would have a screen over the face of the frame, it would have a wind sensor that would change the face of the array directly into the wind precisely using a small gear and motor built into the platform.

the Stacked array could be built pretty high as long as the structural material can withstand high wind velocities. the face of the array is convexed to help funnel wind into the turbines.

one could even use Alternators from vehicles as the electrical generator for smaller projects.
if built right and with the right materials a stacked array could be as high as a sky scraper in a big city.

just wanted to share my thoughts on "eco safe" wind turbine generators.

Why use a sensor and a motor?  Just give it a tail, so it turns into the wind itself.

The only thing better than a tail, would be a tail with additional fan :-)
But, where to stop?

Stacked turbines seem to be great for getting maximum Watts per ground surface. I suppose it's not being doing yet, due to reduced Watts/building cost? A single fan on a single mast gets some good Watts. A second fan would need to be placed above it to attain the same power, but also require a more than twice as strong mast?

The area of circumference of a turbine blade's circumscribed path can certainly be put to better use than as is currently employed.  Rotary systems, by making use of positive pressure, while wasting most of the associative negative pressures being generated, still rely on brute torque generated almost solely by deflection.

The current state of wind energy, as a movement, (not unlike most any 'movement' these days) is rather like a VW bug, packed with clowns, driving in circles at the end of a cul-de-sac, refusing to see the way out.  When the exit is pointed out, the clowns, alerted by the drivers of the car, all in Union, hop out rank and file.....and dog pile the hapless kid holding the ice cream cone, a surprised look on his face, his traitorous hand outstretched, finger still pointing, to the pavement....


Left to face a dark, cold, hard, reality.


And so must we all, it seems.

actually the sensor was for very large platforms that would require more stabilty against high winds, the motor and gear system would keep the system from ocillating left and right to quickly.

smaller units might use a tail to adjust itself. but when the unit is build as high as a skyscraper might just need a motor and gear system.

there are some good wind channels that could be taken advantage of like the hill sides of Fairfield California that are always windy. nothing but grassy hill sides mostly.
