yes it is verry impressive but i think its not a true crystal cell it more a galvanic crystal cell its not wbat i think we are after mine use no water at all or verry little
@mr ian

do you need to use a bit water to make your portland cement plaster of paris cells and mini cells as above and if so did you use anything else in these cells? tha magnesium aluminium alloy seems interesting in the video. may look for some

Hey Ian and all:
I have done much research and I believe that we are going about this in the wrong way.
It is my hypothesis that (as per T.T. Brown) these materials are actually
collecting/converting radiant/zpe energy. I think that each material is tuned to a certain
frequency of this energy and instead of trying to merely use the small amount of current
that we are getting from these we need to actually tune these so as to be like an antenna.

I really could use everyone's help in this I have made a thread for the general Idea:
"Petrovoltaic Radiant Collector"
http://www.overunity.com/index.php?topic=8953.0
All I can mostly offer is my ideas and theoretical research into all this, as I am fairly
poor/modest income with a little one on the way ;D So anyone who can help in studying
this further and can confirm anything or help/discuss would be much appreciated.
I find it interesting to note also that Brown noticed changes in these materials
depending on lunar/solar/gravitational etc changes. Note the thread:
"Earth Electrical Energy Datalogging Experiments"

This is all related IMHO.
Thank you
-Winter

I am generally not very negative about new ideas but I am negative
about what you are saying...too often this kind of literature goes *off
the scientific deep end*. Rather than understanding science as needing
a little error correction, a few very bad ideas are compounded and
before long, one has a whole pile of ideas that in no way can be
justified from evidence or fit in logically with what *is* known. I have
a distinct feeling that one first would want to solve the worlds energy
problems, before shooting off into space-time in their own UFO for
example. I don't feel that studing these literatures will help in building
these battery cells.

And I hope no one that is doing experimentation, which almost by definition
is a long hard slog, wastes their time on this. It would be nice to have
a detailed account of where this energy comes from but if you have
external radiation then you should have sheilding effects between cells.

I want to encouarage various crystal battery experimenters to keep at it.

@mscoffman
You need not poo poo the idea merely because one of the links to a source has "ufo" in the title. It is only because of T.T. Brown's other work in "electro-gravity".
His work in Petrovoltaics is sound much of which is still classified. However there is tons of information kept by his family. (http://www.qualight.com/library.htm)
To run around saying it is "bad ideas" and "pseudoscience" smacks of Disinformation tactics generally used by those either paid by, or working for various agencies.
One merely has to research the entirety of T.T. Brown's work as well as others in the field to see that what I am saying is true.

To further clarify what I am saying:
It is known that if you have a long wire antenna in the air, with a ground you will indeed gather energy from those rf sources.
It is known that Nikola Tesla (See Patent #685957 "The Apparatus for the utilization of Radiant Energy") with a sphere of dielectric in the air with also a ground gathered radiant energy.(There is more to this indeed since he tuned this for more output)
It is known that T.T. Brown did indeed do much research into the fact that certain dielectrics naturally gathered radiant energy. Frequencies vary depending upon the dielectric, therefore one can tune these to increase output. It is therefore very logical then to say that if one were to tune the frequency of the used dielectric such as granite, basalt, galena, barium titanate, or whatever natural material you decide to use or mixture that you will get more output after tuning.
Indeed whether you like or believe in John Hutchison's work note that John also has said to look into old crystal radio sets to begin to understand about his "crystal batteries". These are not batteries at all but receivers/collector/convertors of radiant energy.
Believe whatever you wish, the evidence is there, the logic is sound and I myself plan to build and experiment upon this.  ;D

Hello everyone! Right now your saying to yourself: “Who’s this newbie?” Well, I’m what they call a lurker in internet terms. I finally got around to registering and I‘m going to join the discussion. I’ve read this ENTIRE thread from start to right now. (Yes my eyes are bleeding:o) So I’ll just jump right in, everyone can call me Jonathan, because well...that’s my name. Okay, so first up, this is for mscoffman: Let’s not forget that we’re a bunch of people trying to get power from rocks! That’s seems pretty much equal in craziness to UFO’s right. I think wintermuteai1 has a good idea about tuning these things. Everything I have ever read about zero point, it seems like some sort of tuning is needed to get the energy out. I think it might be worth giving some thought to maybe hooking a crystal battery to an oscilloscope, and maybe a frequency generator and playing around with it a little if anybody here has one. Anyway, I attached two pictures, hopefully I did everything right and everyone can see them, sorry for the poor photography. My work area looks like an explosion at a mining facility. So in the first pic I show four of my cells, cell 1 is a brass container, bought in the plumbing area at Lowe’s, and an aluminum knitting needle, bought from Wal-mart. Wal-mart has several sizes of aluminum knitting needles that work great if aluminum is what you need, you just have to sandpaper the paint off so they’ll be conductive. Usually I use an aluminum container and a brass electrode, so that the center electrode will be positive. If you use an aluminum electrode, like the knitting needle, it just flips the polarity around, but seems to work fine. I’ve learned a whole lot from following the work of you guys! Thanks Ian for the cement idea also, it works pretty well. And to Pirate, good find, I found that video a few month’s back, it’s the one that got me started with all this! And while water is used in the cells on that youtube video, meaning some energy may be galvanic, the idea of sitting the pyrite on top to be the electrode is important, I’ll get to that in a moment. Anyway, here are the stats on cell 1 as numbered in the picture, 1.004 Volts 0.10 Milliamps. It just has Sakcrete brand concrete mix and a bit of plaster of paris in it, as Ian suggested. I didn’t do something right, so it’s not quite as powerful as I would like, but it was a step in the right direction. Next is cell 2 as numbered in the picture, I buy electrolytic capacitors from radio shack and take them apart to get perfect little aluminum containers for crystal batteries. Although they are much cheaper on the electronic goldmine website. This cell uses an aluminum capacitor casing and a brass rod for an electrode. Now here is the mix I’m using in it, and in all my cells currently. Concrete mix, red Stanley brand marking chalk, the kind used for marking lines during construction, blue Stanley brand marking chalk, and a dash of plaster of paris. These are listed in order from most to least amount used in the cell. This mix is what cells 3, 4 and P contain in roughly the same amounts, 3 has a bit more blue chalk but anyway they are roughly about the same. First let me list the ingredients in the chalks, as I found them on the online material safety data-sheet for each of them. RED MARKING CHALK: Limestone, (which is basically calcium carbonate) hematite, and Iron oxide. The color matters you see, iron oxide is why it’s red! Next BLUE CHALK: Limestone, crystalline silica, sodium alumino-sulphosilicate. Okay, an interesting blend huh? Now I know there are better things I could be putting in these things, but these ingredients are cheap. I still need to get some titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and a few other things to try that you guys have mentioned, but I haven't managed to yet. So anyway, cell 2 stats are 0.950 Volts 0.06Milliamps. I don’t really consider this one a success because it’s so weak. Cell number 3 as numbered in the picture, has the same mixture of concrete and chalk except a bit more blue chalk, but this time I used a small chunk of pyrite as the electrode. This made a significant difference in it’s performance. It’s stats are 1.171 Volts 0.13 Milliamps. That’s the stats after it settled over a period of time, when I first made this cell it was kicking out 0.7 milliamps. A bit sad it didn’t continue at that level but it’s still an improvement. Okay, next is cell number 4 as numbered in the picture, it’s the current champion. This one has more red chalk like cell 2, I wanted to see if the extra blue chalk in cell 3 had improved the performance or if it was the “mineral amplifier” as I’ve come to call it, in other words the pyrite. So I used the mixture of cell 2 which was rather pathetic, and placed a mineral amplifier in it. Now when I saw that pyrite had helped in cell 3, I measured the resistance of a pyrite chunk that was about 1.5 cubic centimeters in size. It was about 1.3K Ohms. Not bad I thought, but can I do better with these mineral amplifiers? I took a reading on a piece of chalcopyrite, it was 500 Ohms. Hmm...chalcopyrite contains copper, maybe that's what's helping I thought. Can I do better still? Bornite, also known as peacock ore, is a copper iron sulfide. It is usually found in the same deposits as chalcopyrite. I took a resistance measuring, 7 Ohms. Yeah, S-E-V-E-N! That’s pretty good, I stuck it in cell 4 as the electrode. Cell 4 stats, 1.417 Volts as you can see in the picture, 0.26 Milliamps. Sure, it wouldn’t give you enough energy to power Doc’s time machine, but it’s another improvement. ;D It’s had time to settle also. Here’s the point, I didn’t get close to this with a simple metal rod in the battery, so there must be some kind of amplifying going on here. Maybe you guys could use some of your fancy oxides  ;) and make a more powerful, lower internal resistance mixture, then put a piece of bornite in it, and see what happens! Also I think this merits trying various minerals as electrodes, to see if there’s any better ones even than bornite. Resistance may not be everything, perhaps a higher resistance mineral would still do better, who knows. And just to show off the potential here, is picture number 2, of my bornite cell having no trouble at all running a little clock! And now like Steve Jobs says, “One More Thing...” In picture 1 you see that tall skinny guy over to the right, I’m sure Ian will recognize the name, P-Cell. :) Except, this time...that’s P for PLASTIC, not...well...Pee. I used an Avramenko Plug. I’m sure some of you know what that is, there’s a thread about it on overunity. And you can check out Lidmotor’s videos on youtube for more info. It’s simply two diodes connected at one end and facing in opposite directions. It basically gets non-directional energy moving from  negative to positive, so it can be used for something. I sunk an Avramenko plug into the mixture, which I had made inside a plastic tube that radio shack sells solder in. And hey, what do you know, it works! Now it only outputs about 50 millivolts, but I’m thinking that’s because of the forward voltage drop on the diodes being about 1 volt. So for me to be getting anything means that it’s at least producing enough to push through the diodes. The diodes are high speed switching types 1N914 to be exact. You have to use high speed switching ones for this to work. I tried making another with some schottky barrier diodes that had ultra-low forward voltage drop, but were not high speed, and I got nothing. So, ideally low forward voltage drop, high switching speed diodes would work well for this, but I don’t know what diodes that would be . Anyway, this should prove that crystal cells are not galvanic. This should be the ultimate reply to that guy you gave the sugar cell to Ian! Since as far as I know, no kind of galvanic cell can work with a plastic container and no dissimilar metals. Oh, and I had an idea about a much easier way to polarize these cells. I haven't tried it yet, but I’ll get around to it. You know those gas grill lighters that you click the trigger and get a flame? There’s a piezoelectric igniter inside, that’s why they click. So I bought one, and took it apart, It’s a little unit about an inch long with two wires, you just push down on it’s little plunger and click! You get several Kilovolts, I took some readings, and it went over 2000 volts! And even if it shocks you, it’s just tingles slightly, so it’s not really dangerous. You could connect it to a cell with some croc clips, then start clicking! Do you guys think this could work for polarizing a cell? ??? So, that’s what I’ve been up to. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experience, it has helped me greatly with all this! Keep trying new things everybody!
