Good, triffid.  I wouldn't want to have the bad karma of some people around here who don't care about Japan's misery.  That's a really! bad situation.

The worldwide economy could be affected by this ongoing nightmare in Japan.  As it is, ~10% of the electrical grid in Japan is "down the toilet", so to speak. And that's permanently.  This problem is more than just *long term*, even if the TEPCO engineers can stop the radiation today.

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.
