I was amazed to hear on the radio this week that the price of solar panels had come down.Using a small solar panel that I have I was recharging a double A battery with the power coming off of a 75 watt bulb I had to be careful about the heat from the bulb but the double As were being charged,not from an Led as in your other post lee.But the idea was there to recapture some of that lost energy.Maybe a power saving curly cue bulb would be a help?I think too a solar cell placed underneath a shade tree with the wing blowing the branches back and forth would give you varying voltages allowing you to use a step up or step down transformer.The shade has to be spotty.the shadows must be moving back and forth.Hence varying voltages would result from one solar cell.triffid

I have three small solar panels that will recharge two double A batteries each.Bought on sale from harbour freight one time for less than 10 dollars each. one month later price was back up to about $15.00 eachThey have sales on their solar panels 2 or 3 times a year.triffid

  I think that the best thing going are solar panels. They can be set up quickly, and are good to have even if you don't use them, just as a battery charging system to keep some lights on at night, if and when needed.  I could see prices on cells and panels going through the roof, if something did happen and people bought them all up. Price could be many times higher, if you could even find them.

If we have a default market prices will crash.
If millions of SS checks dont go out as usual lots of people in power will be voted out of office next election around.We still don't know what will happen at this time.triffid

There are things you can do with solar cells.You can reflect up to 10x the sunlight on them to get 10x the power.You can run a fan to blow air on them if you have concerns about them heating up.Solar panels have solder that melts around 400 degrees F so I would not use them so much to get 10x .But aim for 4X.triffid
