      Don't individual States have the right to issue tender?  The feds can use theirs to payoff debts they entered into for their bankruptcy problems while the rest of us can go on with life and trade in state issued tender.  They can continue to tax the shit out of everybody but nobody will have any income in federal issue to be taxable.  The excuse for the federal issue to begin with was that it was getting too confusing for people to exchange individual state currencies when doing interstate trading.  I believe most people could figure out how much state issue to give a grocery store checkout cashier.
The federal government could still tax interstate trade and corporations who profit in multiple states but the double taxing of US citizens trying to make a living is ludicrous.  Try making a purchase of something that a corporation hasn't already been taxed on in providing that goods or service.  The fuel to bring it there federally taxed.  The corporate profits federally taxed.   The utlity company keeping the lights and equipment on in the store federally taxed.  The insurance carrier for the employees benefit federally taxed.  Pension plans-IRAS etc etc etc. built into the cost of the product you are purchasing with inome they are taxing again.
