Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

Do you think the American economy will ever improve?

Yes, definitely
Possibly, in the long run
No, it will worsen
Undecided

How long before this hits the USA?
@Triffid,
A sub-article to the main one asserted that the Fed. Chief was doing that right now.   What Cyprus did was about what Europeans always did:  'Kick the can' down the road.   Great.   Nothing has really changed.   If any country cuts back on spending, that'll hurt their economy.   If they do nothing, their economy will eventually crash, as this site's thread has as its subject.
I and everyone else has to live with economic decisions made elsewhere.   The lawyers and politicians who make the decisions will eventually regret their greed.
I'm ready for whatever happens.

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.

Hey, triffid,
I've been watching both Europe (Cyprus) and N. Korea.  Both are bad enough to give the economy a push off 'the edge'.   Anyone who thinks things will go on forever as is hasn't looked at or remembered history clearly.
Whoa.   N. Korea just cut the last line of communications with S. Korea from their side.
They indicated, to wit: the gist, "War may break out at any time."
Uh...this is something to pay attention to.   I'm getting the 'vibes' they're crazy enough to not give a d@mn about what happens to their country or themselves.

And the N. Koreans absolutely hate S. Koreans.   Their ruling junta might still be bluffing for looks and mere show, but if they back down now, they'll lose face in the world community and amongst their own people.
I'll be looking at this carefully.

Lee,I heard an interesting discussion on north korea. If North Korea did attack us it would be suicide for them. It was said that most leaders like the current one are survivors, not martyers. They do the talk to unit their people against an outside enemy. And to keep their minds off of their hunger which has resulted in the north koreans being a full foot shorter(on average) than their southern counterparts. Also on Cyprus Their bailout totals only 10 billion. The Apple company is worth 156 billion in comparsion. So Cyprus seems like small potatoes right now.I really do not like the trends here.I no longer have a spell checker here when I post.Sorry for any spelling mistakes here.

I do think jobs will continue to leave the USA.I do think people will have to be more creative in reinventing themselves.People will have to plant more gardens.Learn more about alternative forms of energy. We do have a future but things have been changing for the past 60 years and will continue to do so.I do not want to predict just gloom and doom for everyone.I am more upbeat than that.I recently met an ex-CEO of Kodack company. He told me he left them in 1988.He told them that they were going down back then.He was called a bad guy.He said the most frightening trend of big corporations is to use the cheap labor of overseas countries to make products only to bring them over here back to the USA to sell. Thus draining the wealth of the USA.Good things, however, are happening,Wind energy is growing at 30% a year.Solar panels are getting cheaper.Right now Our major export is paper right now and it comes back to us from China in the form of boxes and packages. We buy most of our oil now from Canada(tar sands). Not the middle east.More people are checking out biodiesel.I heard that our farmers could grow enough oils to make us energy independent within 36 months if they were only allowed to.triffid
