Imagine this:

There are two coils like you see above.  The left coil is two Henrys inductance.  The right coil is one Henry of inductance. The coils are not magnetically coupled to each other.  There is wire Loop A for the left coil and wire Loop B for the right coil.  You can see how the two wire loops are connected at the center.

Imagine one ampere of current is flowing in Loop A, and zero amperes of current is flowing in Loop B.

You see above the center connection wire, the "]" character.

Question:  What happens when you remove the center connection wire?

But still this does not explain some things! These is a lot of information missing here! The reason, Induction is not taken into account individually in each Coil at time t - An EMF is described via mutual Inductance in one coil, but this does not describe the whole Picture. This page shows the Opposite! It shows the Solenoid(s) being used to perform Work in the form of a Magnetic Field, Kinetic Energy. E.G: Electric Motor

I would like to point out, the Picture Below (Opposite Fields) is the same Configuration I have shown in the Configuration Two examples I have given. Its also the same configuration that is used in the Kromrey Converter, this picture only shows one Rotor not two as in the Kromrey Converter, and as I have pointed out there is a very good reason for this. The End result is that the Kromrey Converter Speeds Up under Load.

Where Induction, EMF, is occurring in both Coils at the same time, where the Fields Oppose from each Coil - There is a Right way to do this and a Wrong way, like anything in life!
