Hi all back to basics, the nano pulse generator, the circuit shows 74hc(t)00, x2 gated driving a KT926A any one got this to work Having a laugh !

Ok change the chips to 74hct132. next problem the out put wont drive the KT926A it needs 7A base current  with an hfe of about 10 to 60 if your lucky I tried it and the 74hc132 over heated the 5volt reg trying to sink over 2 amps the 74hc 132 can drive 35 Mhz no problem we are talking about 150 to 300 mhz devices here and you need a driver between the 74hc132 and the KT926A driven from the 12 volt supply, to get any where.

Any idea's ?

interesting diagram,

i tried my nano-pulser instead of the kacher before, and was using the antenna but without being able to generate a big enough pulse on the inductor/grenade
(nano-pulse used was 1.4KV).

But probably i should get rid of the antenna, and use a shorted coax cable wrapped around the inductor / grenade to inject the nano-pulse like in the old Dally setup.

I will give it a try lateron.

Thanks Hoppy, i did find a small section of just the pulser driver over on the Russian forum, where Ruslin is trying to tell everyone how to build it all, but he gets a lot of slagging, one user in prticulat mentions the grenade and the katcher are a quarter wave apart if it's of any interest.

Also what are you using instead of the KT907 or where can i get them from ? some of the SMT ztx's look as if the might do but are a pain to mount.
