If you knew a bit more about electronics, and were paying more attention to what Tinman has posted, you would have a pretty good idea of just how he has that MOSFET connected.

Personally, my hat is off to him for the elegance of the configuration he chose to short his coil.

Again, Tinman shorts that coil, at no time is it connected in parallel with the other coil or with the output cap as you depicted.

That is what his schematic depicts and that is what he has said on his videos.
