We also need to understand the influence of each turn to the other turn/turns.Constructing  a coil must take into consideration many other aspects, not only the usual standard ones.
In your recent experiment 1+1 does not equals 2 . I have seen 1+1 equals much more and you will see it too with further investigation.The coil can also act as an amplifier when properly built.

When you read between the lines in the above quoted text it's pretty obvious that Romero did not know at the time how a coil actually works.  It's a great mystery for the vast majority of beginning experimenters.  If you want to learn how a coil works teach yourself using legitimate electronics educational sources.

It is just a toroidal transformer with the windings connected to buck.  It will behave pretty much like a small value air core inductor.

Chris your approach is the logical one, our present generators use a bucking topology,the generators magnetic fields buck, also wimshurst machines us a bucking topology as well.
We definitely have to study the things that do work.

In a generator a magnet passes a coil and induces current in the coil.

If we look at this as solid state switching the magnet is the primary but the magnet has no self induction.

Can we shield a primary so it has no self induction
