so far i got almost your first picture trumpet wave , but trying to improve it i fired almost all my HV cap and also my LCR meter  youp! and furthermore and got some really good bloody electric chocs. So everybody be very cautious with those circuit and especially with HV capacitors.

Very good show, only a bit too much background nose level, so
sometimes Wesley was hard to understand...
Maybe he did run all the time his sparkgap oscillators ?


Well, I wonder what the differences was, when Wesley adjusted
some settings and the first spark gap did not change , but the second spark gap changed
and the bulb light became bright.
Was this just the adjustment for the right resonance frequency ?


As Wesley explained it all with reflected and forwarded RF power and SWR factors,
it was not easy to understand.
So it is wise to study these SMITH charts at the upper link to get a feeling for
reflective RF power...when the resonance conditions and impedancematching does
or does not fit...

Well done Wesley !
I hope you can soon measure it better with a DC power source and a lowpass filter,
so you can measure just the DC input power.
