Without the cable inside, you have nothing in this configuration.

Not oscillating. Rotating aether displacement.  The "capacitive collector" is imbalanced and concentric, this produces an additional force between the "plates" (cables in this case).

It is not really electrostatic, but electro-dynamic or electro-kinetic, since you are pulsing rather than applying static hv.
TK hides the circuit in the green box, but I don't think it would be hard to adjust the pulse rate and find a sweet spot.

Yes, a condcutive tube, pipe, rolled sheet, or mesh should also work in place of the large outer coil.  However the large outer coil provides a longer path and this will alter the output to have a higher voltage.  This correlation is drawn directly from Tesla's article on the homopolar generator.

(however the orientation appears wrong so the length may have no effect.)

There may be a sweet spot for the rep rate, or several sweet spots, or ever rep rate may work.

the schematic i posted works, nothing wrong with it, and ferrite has nothing to do with this, ferrite dimminishes light, it is not required, at 500 khz ferrite has a low permeability,   primary only intended to be as experiment, i have played with nearly a hundred configuration with tesla coils.  all of this is experiment in a very small scale,  im just speaking from my coil connection experiments, i do not own theories....

OK, but look AM receiver antene. If you have ferrite inside the antene receving is much better than without ferrite.

Look Kapanadze 100kW desing. Tesla coil generate HV. Primari coil on bobin is connected to HV on Tesla coil with spark. Inside the Bobin see receiver coil (secundary) wrapped over ferrit or similar material.

This setup works with 600, 700 i 800 Hz. Take this SW (http://www.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php?p=111604&t=0&i=1) and look. Play kapanadze video and see frequency on this SW.

All this (FE) staf based on the HV transmiter, and AM receiver. Receiver must bee tuned on the tranasmit frequency. But if use 2 transmit frequency in resonance, more receivers can be tuning to more resonant frequency. (Alfred Hubbard device)
