Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

Do you think the American economy will ever improve?

Yes, definitely
Possibly, in the long run
No, it will worsen
Undecided

relax at 55 feet its about one third the size of the Arizona meteor.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meteor_Crater   which was 150 feet across.
i think at 55 feet it would make a big hole but its not remotely big enough to be a Dino killer.
Mr triffid if you are going to buy a gun you need to do some serious thinking and research.
what and where will you be shooting, not to mention where the slugs end up when you miss.
its going to take some training and practice so that you do not hurt yourself or bystanders.

it's supposed to pass us at approximately 8000 miles away... nothing to worry about... ;)  8000 miles is the diameter of earth, so it will miss us by an earth's width. nothing to worry about... ;) go back to watching american idol and celebrity wives. go shopping, spend money... nothing to worry about... ;) our pigheaded refusal to look facts in the face will keep us safe. nothing to worry about... ;)
There is no news. There's the truth of the signal. What I see. And, there's the puppet theater...

what facts did i overlook? that the people who track these things say it will miss?
that if it hits the earth it will do local damage only because its just a pebble?
what do you think we should be doing?

If it hit an ocean at some incredible speed, I imagine there could be a huge tsunami.

It probably would land in an ocean, since the earth is covered by water to 70% of the total area.

Tsunamis are going to be the main concern, and(!), the asteroid Apophis is lurking out there with 8-10 times the diameter of the Meteor Crater asteroid.

Even so, the one today would be a wake up call and a tsunami on the East Coast is nothing to grin and chuckle about.  Apophis would cause several rebounding tsunamis on every ocean shoreline in the world, say, up to 50' high.  (My speculation.)

I'm merely a theoretical electronics engineer/technician for now, since I have no extra money for experimentation, but I was a professional electronics/computer technician in the past.
As a result, I have a lot of ideas, but no hard test results to back them up---for now.  That could change if I get a job locally in the Bay Area of California.
