In going back to natural gas deposits on mars.I did some research today on past impacts on the earth.It seems that in the last 600 million years there have been 60 objects of a size 5 km(3 miles) that have struck the earth.Two major impacts,one 250 million years ago and one 65 million years ago,nearly wiped out life on earth.Surely some bacterial spores were blasted off of the earth and survived a trip to a much warmer and wetter mars in the past.If mars was wetter and warmer in the past that is.




Consider too the number of mars like planets in the galaxy that must exist.

Yesterday I got a hold of a book on the homeless in the USA."Welcome Them Home" by Larry and Chris Rice.C.c.2013.I think I have mentioned Larry Rice before in this thread.He is a pastor here in St.louis who does a lot of work with the homeless.Chris is his son.Although written with a Christian view the book makes a case for changing society so that everyone matters.And states that "homelessness is the predictable result of private and public-sector policies that exclude the poor from participating in the economic revolution,while safety nets are slashed in the name of global competitiveness". It also states that the global economy does not exist to help the communities and localities of the globe but exist to siphon the wealth of those communities and places it into a few bank accounts.The end result is that the rich get richer while the poor get poorer.triffid

All night city police and park rangers are patroling the area to make sure nobody sleeps in city parks.The non-existence of public restrooms open 24/7 opens the homeless up to fines of $100 if they relieve themselves in public.When you are homeless nearly everything you do to rest after 10pm is illegal.We send our money to foreign powers who could not care less on our way of life and our families.
What movies and tv take for granted is that its normal to have enough money to live to excess.
