...but can be turned around in function (receiving, that is) and lengthened greatly, thus demonstrating Extracting electricity from the atmosphere.
There may also be tuning coils included, either with the antenna/aerial or else stand alone.
Some Patents may include electronic circuits, even if they are way long dated in the past and therefore obsolete(vacuum tubes). You can merely start looking at the circuit input.

This is something Tesla would have liked, and was probably taken from his work by someone who did research like many of this site's members.
More are available; at least 20-30 from before about 1930.

You don't live in the Eastern Hemisphere, do you? Software incompatibility? I'm not sure. what happened
Can you briefly and simply describe what you mean?
--Lee
Basicly you know with satellite where satellite can't go past the field of the earth right?
Basicly it reflects back and it actually uses the earths in conjuction..and it deals with you know for what you have studyed...like a skip effect...obviously..it is useing the earths energy in a way with how that it described but i have faith and you can use this back.
The earth has it's own rf broadcast frequency and we all know we can convert rf into electric...right?
It is best to study things about ions etc and its behavior and ways to convert it to electric or look at nasa or ion engines or whatever and see the effect of how it converts it...ions are still positive and negative...the way i see it they are like atoms in a system along with other system so it will all pan out..so don't bash me anyway.
So yea...you got to view the earth like a capacitor...a great big fucking capacitor that has tons of power...so how would you tap into this capacitor so to speak with what you know and know now?
Well i suggest looking at a normal circuit and do a test..prehaps one with the resonance effect...of course the circuit deals with grounding but look at it this way...it is still electric..and the reason for that it is like a transformer sucking energy away..right?
These circuits that basicly tap the earths energy this way...is like a transformer action as you know what transformers do..well it's like it.
Oh and i pirated vista x64 off demonoid...and is fully working :P for free.
Don't forget the em spectrum...the low hz is rf-em basicly.

Hi Lee,
The link includes a dot at its html ending which should not be there, that is the reason the link cannot work. Here is the same link without the dot, it should work:

Right. However, I remember reading that some researchers insist the Earth's magnetic reacts with the cosmic medium with it's own magnetic field to create additional power as well. These patented designs should also work in deep space, hopefully.
BTW, one of the reasons I started this thread is that more power could be generated by smaller, more efficient antennas and I've presented examples to that effect for all to see.
More patents can be posted later by me.

No, I agree substantially with your words. Not bashing you at all.
(There was a typo in the first link address of your post, which I finally saw. Honest mistake.)
And, you're correct, ions are positively charged, but electrons are easier to make artificially. A coil and a moving magnet field should do the trick. Other systems can include Tesla, Bedini, special coils, etc., so you can make a point in that regard, yes.

Well, I would say the antenna *sucks* or *apprehends* the potentially available power, and then the transformer transforms it into useful current.

Yeah, I had read of that, too. A long antenna and low freq. EM rf energy is what we're all looking for in our research efforts.

Has anybody ever built a 'schumann resonance' Tesla Coil? 7Hz to 50Hz variance.
I know it would require a lot of winding but a nice lathe could tackle the job.
I don't think there could be anything better as far as a schumann resonance air coil electrical generator.
the Earth's own schumann resonance would resonate the secondary and generate all the electricity you wanted.

Yes, a lot of wire would be needed, to put it mildly. Probably as much municipal, residential and commercial wire presently existing in a large worldwide city. 7 Hz is 186,000 miles/7Hz per sec. = over 23,700 miles for each wavelength. A lathe might be able to turn a coil built in many, many, many sections.
Quote
...I don't think there could be anything better as far as a schumann resonance air coil electrical generator. ...
Take a look at:
http://www.iihr.uiowa.edu/projects/schumann/Index.html
I have a point to make: without seeing this group's test results, there's nothing to keep other frequencies from impacting a coils with more energy than the Schumann wave harmonics in their entirety.
I admit they could always use a bandpass filter to eliminate this interference.
Quote
...the Earth's own schumann resonance would resonate the secondary and generate all the electricity you wanted.
Do you know how much power that is, exactly? One source I looked at said the power available was minute compared to all other wavelengths.

Hi Big M.
it would really depend on where it is built and the additional ambient radiation induction of the coil, orbiting in space through the Earth's Magneto sphere is optimal at best do to induction times velocity like the tethered satellite experiments.
however, on the Earth in a stationary position it would probably have an induction value of the Earth's Magnetic field.
The strength of the field at the Earth's surface ranges from less than 30 microteslas (0.3 gauss) in an area including most of South America and South Africa to over 60 microteslas (0.6 gauss) around the magnetic poles in northern Canada and south of Australia, and in part of Siberia.
Typical daily variations of field strength are about 25 nanoteslas with variations over a few seconds of typically around 1nT.
with additional ambient field radiation it could increase the factor greatly.
even a 60Hz air coil should pick up everyones household radiation leakage pretty good for quite some distance acting as an antenna. so an air coil of around 50 to 60Hz might do the job.
I think I'll stick with Super Solar Cells instead.

Hey Jerry,
Plauson implied as much in his Patent, #1540998. Up to "500 HP" would be available from a cable several miles long. But you're right. Other frequencies are much more prevalent in the atmosphere than Schumann resonance waves.

To all here on this thread,an inventor back in the 1917-1927 came up with strange looking antennas to collect electricity from the air.The first antenna he made was set up inside his house and by the next day at noon he was said to be running a motor and lights off of the electricity he could pull from the air.Mr Harry E. Perrigo was his name and he was exposed as a fraud on his electric car(1927). But there were a lot of witnesses in the early days that his antennas were working.Http://rexresearch.com/perrigo/perrig.htm Triffid

"Harry Perrigo" doesn't register any hits on www.google.com/advanced_patent_search
Here's an Internet reference:
http://en.allexperts.com/e/h/ha/harry_perrigo.htm
But, you may be right. He may not have been issued a patent, but he actually applied for one.
For some reason, the Rexresearch link only gives me a blank page
and hitting Cntrl-Alt-Del indicates the computer isn't responding on that page alone. All other applications work. Something wrong with Rexresearch.com?
This works for me...

...and it should be on the same server as Rexresearch. Doesn't make sense.

There are 5 or 6 of these posts on various forums. When I have the time to sit through the 67 minute presentation in its entirety, I'll make a more definite opinion.
Up 'til now, what I'm doing,
especially with this thread, is giving Members and the curious public all the information I can find for free, because I got it for free.
Enjoy what you see on this thread, especially if you find it helpful.

Which one patent uses plasma tube as a part of antennae ? I heard that it's possible to extract electrical energy from plasma (vide Correa patents) Did you find more patents using plasma ?

Which one patent uses plasma tube as a part of antennae? I heard that it's possible to extract electrical energy from plasma (vide Correa patents) Did you find more patents using plasma ?
I hadn't found any like that yet. I was only looking for wire antennae for this particular forum.
I did find several that used radiation to generated electricity, though. (Patent #4,835,433 is one example; there are others). I might start a thread in the
Half Baked Ideas Forum concerning this.
But, if I do find one, I'll reply to your specific post with a quote, the number, and the GOOGLE patent address.
RE-EDIT:Here's one possible right now that I stumbled on:
#4,303,845 at http://www.google.com/advanced_patent_search
It's not just not *exactly* plasma electricity generation, but it's fairly close. If I find others, I can copy them here.
#6,164,241
Here's one that generates plasma, but Fig. 5 can be used to conduct electricity to the capacitors in the drawing:
http://www.google.com/patents?id=c_oEAAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&zoom=4#v=onepage&q=&f=false
#4,844,775
This is a commercial vapor deposition/etching process that requires electrons be removed from a plasma the then the ions are accelerated to the target:
http://www.google.com/patents?id=-ug0AAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&zoom=4#v=onepage&q=&f=false
Please keep in mind:Many of these patents are designed to generate plasma, not extract electrons from it. High density plasma can melt the coils in a hurry.
Furthermore,
MHD and MPD systems are often designed to generate electric power from plasma mixtures that are confined by magnet/electromagnetic fields. There are more than enough patents to this effect to be search for.

Very good, forest. This that one above I had forgotten about, but I did say in my description elsewhere on this thread, one of the figures in the patent has an embodiment dealing with charging batteries from the Tesla coil(s).
Also, Edwin Gray was granted a patent for a system that used a certain type of rather capacitively induced wire-and-cylinder coupled component. Rexresearch.com may have a reference.

Hey Jerry,
I remember a couple, I think, that look similar. They would have been used mostly for tuning RF antennae or radio/radar detection section input.
And, toroids, with their unusual electrical properties figured heavily in the designs. Only a very few were circular coils.
Occasionally, your spacecraft propulsion design descriptions crossed my mind as I researched this information. I don't know whether any of these patents give you, or anyone else, inspirational ideas, though.
They're here to look up for those who're interested.
Re-edit:Here you go with an easy one: Plauson's #1,540,998 has a circular setup mounted on suspended balloons. It probably wouldn't work, especialy on a gusty day, but I'm sure he thought it was a good idea.

NOTE:
This is merely research. I don't have the freedom or the money right now, where I live, to experiment, except for the simplest, cheapest types of components.
And, I live with veterans, some of whom are former addicts and alcoholics---which adds stress to my daily routine.

You're right. It's a simple design, as shown in the patent, but it's dependant on local municipal power for efficiency.
Suppose you took it outside, away from the power lines available in Pittsburgh? How much bigger would the unit need to be to get the same voltage?

It doesn't perform well if its away from large concentrations of RF energy, like rural farms, little towns, etc.
You can use this device to capture stray RF from commercial broadcast stations- TV, radio, cell, microwave, radar and the like. It doesn't capture energy from the power-lines.
For example, a resonant 1/2 wave dipole antenna for 60 Hz would be over 14,000 miles long.
Powercast is using this type of circuit to power remote sensors and do remote charging of batteries and remotely charge large capacitors.
Funny, I invented it to 'clean-up' the stray RF that is polluting our major cities and re-cycle it into powering useful things, like clocks, smoke detectors, battery charges and other low power consuming devices.
But after Powercast bought my patent, they just added to the RF problem by coupling my power supply circuit with a special type of transmitter so they can power remote things anywhere.
BTW, the US patent office search engine works great & its free:

That was the focus of my question. I imagine the aerial needs to be substantially longer?

That concept bothered be for a few minutes. Now that I think about it, if the emanated signal(s) are being grounded by this device, they're effectively dealt with in the way you envisioned for your patent, right?
Quote

I'm trying to grasp the concept as I write.
If a dishonest person wraps a coiled wire around a non-energized
(!!!) power line, to steal power, it'll conduct at 60 Hz. If the same thing was done with a fluorescent tube near a Tesla coil, is the Tesla coil being loaded down by that resonant conduction? Would the same thing happen to power supplies using your patented device? That is, to be more heavily loaded by the resonant conduction?

I, and the public library, have been having problems accessing the site and printing off pages. The librarian himself hinted that his opinion was that USPTO was clamping down of access as a deliberate restriction. My more conciliatory explanation is that they might do it for budgetary reasons to cut costs. There's always politics of all kinds to consider, as well.
--Lee
Antenna length is not the issue. We're not trying to tune in a 'signal', but to capture the near-field energy (magnetic) that contains the power...and yes, a portion of emanated energy is captured and eventually 'grounded' through the device.
When you wrap wire around a power line, you're effectively making a transformer, not a receiver.
That's coupled-field induction.
A fluorescent tube near a Tesla coil is lit by the magnetic field exciting the gas. You can do the same thing with any transmitter- a CB or ham radio will light up a florescent tube if there is a high reflection ratio on the antenna lead (SWR)
see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standing_wave_ratio
My circuit increases susceptibility by way of phase addition- by using the back emf of collapsing fields around a series of coils.
Yea, other search engines may be a better choice for the time being. The US patent office is overloaded with people doing bulk data mining & they are upgrading their computer system to improve their speed.

I did a cb next to a flurescent and found that if you drop the end of the antennae (length of copper wire) into a glass of water set next to the bulb it lights very easily with no dark zones. If the antennae end had an alligator clip on it the water made no difference.
What is going on here? The transmitter runs alot cooler also. Standing waves not a nice thing to do to the finals.

Tap water is conductive. Putting the wire in it was changing the inductance.
Cut off a length of the wire that is the same length as your alligator clip
and try it with the clip on.
I bet the light gets bright again.

Thanks for the info Lee, but the 2,282,292 patent expired long ago and was never renewed. And, the other patent is for something totally different...it's a pressure generated voltage from a salt crystal:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piezoelectricity
from the claims portion- "The present invention relates to a uni-morph, bi-morph or other type of piezoelectric and/or electrostrictive film element which generates or detects displacement or force in the form of bending, deflection or flexure"...
Patents are worthless these days anyway. One would need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for a patent around the world. Its no guarantee someone wouldn't copy the invention & try to get away with it. Especially in China. I think its just a big money making game for the lawyers.

Yeah, I agree, especially about the Chinese Gov't.
The Chinese people are all right. (I live in San Francisco, so I should have some experience in this.)
The Chinese Gov't is similar to other communistic regimes, so I agree. They'll probably try and seal it from you if they can. The patent may also be classified by the CIA, NSA, Homeland Security, and who knows who else?
As for lawyers, Nathan Portnoy Associates handled my application.

I like this idea. If we can get a piezo element sensitive enough it could be grown on an inductor that undergoes magnetostriction. We then tune the system to be resonant at near infrared and convert heat into juice. Water in the ocean out front of this spot I'm at is a solid 80degrees. Won't cool down for many a year.

Something in the back of my mind came to my attention when I read the quotation above again, thus:
If you're using CEMF/BEMF to enhance power production, the amount power absorbed to ground could be less than that which was produced by the power plant if the coils generate more by themselves. For that reason, whoever said on another thread---a while ago---that a long wire could load down a generator wouldn't necessarily be correct.
Coupled induction is how a transformer works and that's something different.

The site administrator of the site above said a customer in (each) Finland and Israel were both running spiders to do a double download of every available patent in order simultaneously. They crashed the site and he blocked their access until something could be done about it.
I'm surprised the Gov't doesn't crack down on this sort of thing more often. It amounts to a denial-of-service attack.

NOTE:
The car windshied systems below can be examined by the researcher for possible inclusion in experiments.
I recommend reading the entire text of a patent to determine if an inventor's claims are in line with what the researcher/experimenter has in mind for investigation.
#5,422,650
A potentially rather complicated system with resonant coil components for enhanced efficiency.
#4,072,954
The shape of this system is what's interesting. Enlarge is quite a bit if you have the room to spare.
#3,945,014
Car windsheld system having compound wired pattens, which the experimenter may find useful. Expandable.
#3,771,159
Similar to #4,072,954. Includes a coil away from the main wire run(s).
#3,623,110
A 3-dimensional system rather like what onthecuttingedge2005(Jerry) indicated was his favorite coil setup.
#3,484,584
This can be enlarged greatly in size from the original application. Power source can be replaced with a battery.
#2,511,611
Circularly polarized antenna, looking like a strand of DNA.

#5,373,301
Square, crossover elements for a transmitting/receiving antenna.
#4,873,527
A loop antenna, ferrite core and two capacitors in series with the wire.
#4,441,498
This is similar in function to #3,686,389. Four bifilar coils in series(Fig. 4).
#3,918,063
Fig. 4 looks like #2,229,984.
#3,750,180
This is different. An antenna that might also be used in a Joule Thief as a specialized transformer.
#3,683,389
This is strange. Two 90 deg oriented coils inside a larger flat loop antenna.
#3,390,394
This one has the coax cable as the antenna.
#2,910,695
Direction-finding antenna that looks like a theft prevention antenna.
#2,709,219
Like the French patent for free energy involving iron, merely as an antenna. Might be combined with that patent?
#2,273,955
This looks like a Stubblefield setup.
#2,229,984
Circular antenna with air core coils.
#2,203,517
Looks like #2,273,955. A radio receiving antenna.

#2,292,182
Fig. 4 is probably the most relevant.
@Jerry(onthecuttingedge2005)
This is a coil application you wanted to see if I found one like yours.
#1,372,850
Slightly off topic? This is approximately an influence machine with a disc and coil attached, touted to have use as a signal radio generation application. May be modified to a Wimshurst machine.

any patents on such coil?
Try this one:
#2,292,182
A radio receiving antenna. (Fig. 4 is the most useful.)
http://www.google.com/patents?id=Sr9XAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=loop+aerial&as_drrb_ap=q&as_minm_ap=0&as_miny_ap=&as_maxm_ap=0&as_maxy_ap=&as_drrb_is=q&as_minm_is=0&as_miny_is=&as_maxm_is=0&as_maxy_is=&num=100&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q=&f=false
#4,644,366
Strange. Think of a vertical spring coil inside a Faraday cage(Figs. 6 & 7).
#4,080,585
Unusual. A printed circuit coil on two sides of a board.
#3,428,886
New and unusual toroids. Might be used in a Joule Thief.
#3,273,098
The concept is used in impedance matching systems.
#3,237,220
Similar to #3,273,098. Just make the wires a lot longer.
#2,971,173
An RF transformer with or without(?) a ferrite core?
#2,242,023
Think of the outline of an Iron Cross or possibly a Roman Catholic cross with extra cross pieces, all wired in series.
#1,586,144
Fig. 1 is the most useful. For naturally large systems.
#243,180
Fig. 4 is a Caduceus coil.
--Lee
#4,679,046
Fig. 3 suggests a use in electromagnetic spacecraft propulsion drives.
#2,897,497
Obviously a Yagi-style TV antenna. Marconi invented the original design, which should be listed on the thread.
#2,208,413
Radio beacon antenna with air core coils along its length.
--Lee
#4,978,966
Fig. 10 has 3 ferrite coils in parallel as a flexible car radio antenna.
#1,495,537
This can be wired as an opposing bifilar coil.

What you ask for, the Gov't and business won't allow. Free energy to the masses? Hardly likely.
They'll go broke and lose control of their ability to use money to coerce people into thinking people can't do without them.
But, I agree you have a point. I was only dealing with antennae, but I can do radiant energy instead. Might actually be interesting.
I'll see what I find.
RE-EDIT:Here we go:
#7,084,605
Fig. 5 & 6 are most relevant. Uses a square coil to a energy collecting means.
#6,856,291
This is pretty basic. Looks like a crystal radio.
#6,615,074
Fig. 15 is the antenna. The rest is electronic. Designed as a medical power source for the likes of a remote sensing device for a heart pacemaker or similar device(s).
NOTE:This is "scratching the surface", so to speak. And these are recent. Past geniuses 50+ years ago were the pioneers.

Thanks for all your work Bigm. Broadband and I mean broad dumping into a scanner resonant circuit would be interesting. I figure with the proliferation of the new communications grid and the amount of cell phone conversations I am just gonna go for microwave capture. The field has gotta be popping when you figure the amount of wireless communication going on. No wonder SM had a field day with 5khz. All that digital bullshit flying around. Which of course I just added to with this air card transmitter and this post. :P Betya MABELL gets a discount from EDISONS good old boys. And the government just loves taxing us for every word we communicate. What a bunch of thieves.

You bet. I love research. My Dad was the same way, professionally.

Oh, yeah! Resonance on just about any length of wire should be pretty easy. Lots of power available.

After 75 years, patents are legally in the public domain, I believe.

Well, I agree with that. Politics is politics.

TIP:
I've seen in my experience that the site,
http://www.pat2pdf.org ,
it has fewer---or none---line blackouts(attempted Gov't security classification of drawings) than:
http://www,google.com/advanced_patent_search
If you look at some of the technical patent drawings on the site immediately above, you'll see what I mean: Some figures only have numbers for distinct parts and no lines. Partial Gov't classification. This doesn't happen on pat2pdf.org
It's sometimes slow, however.

This one might stand in for a Tesla pancake coil. It's just oriented vertically instead of horizontally. One can also make it oppositely bifilar with an equal number of turns going in 2 directions with a center tap in the middle. Room to experiment on this one.
