Lee,I have been busy waiting to see what happens next here.now friday is march 1st.The day new cuts take effect.According to the media these could be more profound in their effects than if jan1st had come and gone without any adjustments.Because the cuts are in smaller amounts but at the same time they only affect smaller areas of the economy.So these cuts will have more of an effect.I have been going to local food banks for the past few months trying to stock up.Last time was last week.And going to a senior center near me for lunch at $2.50 per head,free if you don't have it.Too many pay nothing as it is.Once in a while if 20 people are eating and theres only $10.00 in the box they will say something about it.I know of two times they said something about it.I know of one guy who never pays.

Yeah, triffid, I finally heard about that.   It'll be a slow poison on the economy, but it'll happen.   Politics!!!!   The whole of Europe's and American politicans have been very creative at keeping the economy going as long as it has, but the 'money' party is about over.
My genetic problems are keeping me from doing what I want all the time, but this     Cr@p!!!!    with the economy is worse in the long run.   Nobody who depends on money will escape the effects of no nothing to eat, drink, cold winters with no heat, etc., etc., etc.
As i said before, "There looks like no good end to all of this."

Hi Lee,Good to hear from you again.I will be planting food again here in st.Louis.I found some sunchokes to plant.They look like sunflowers so they are perfect for a secret garden.They make a tuber that one can eat.Once planted they spread over the entire area.I started a secret garden with them in 1992,So about 21 years of growing and that land has never been developed,cut or sprayed.I am looking for similar land here in st.louis.They are the french artichokes(white in color).I was happy to locate them this last week.triffid
