did you alufoil hit any ionwind from your circuit ?

Or how was it pushed against the floor ?
Did you connect it somehow to the circuit at all ?

Instead of buying an expensive Variac, try using an inexpensive Light Dimmer that is made to control FAN MOTORS.

In my locale, they control 10 AMPS, and sell for about $7.  That is much cheaper than a variac.

I notice much ironic wind on this thread with few showing homeworks. Alu foil 'grip' was discovered by accident in quest of Mr Naudin secret 'arcformer' method. Alu was tried in place of steel plate to MOT. Yes, alu is in circuit in video. Not recommened for indoors as it electrifies the work floor surface, stand on two phone books for safety.

Im only here for experiments Xeno - theory and the rest of it always went over my head.   

Will hopefully get some youtube vids up soon - and like i said, im only gonna be using a battery or NST....

Couldnt you even get a 75 W bulb alight with your NST??  Coil, or no coil, i would have thought it would light up.....I managed to get 2 40 W bulbs and a 75 W fairly well lit with my 6.5 KV NST.  I wasnt so impressed as its pretty much the same result when i put the same load on the secondary of my Tesla coil, which uses the same NST (also going to ground...but only one ground here)...

I was much more impressed with my 12V battery, but my power supply packs a punch, and i wouldnt be too suprised to find out it works without the kapagen coil....

will write all results here:  i promise.  results with and without coil...both power supplies, and a few other variations.  Again, call me a lying scoundrel if it isnt so.
