The simulator is good.  Right click the input scope shot and click 'Show Negative Peak Value'  After you choose to show power consumed.

A resistor can only absorb power, so the scope shot of the resistor will only ever show a consumed value. When measuring the power of a source, the source can give power out and take power in. So in your scope shot of the source, it shows that 54w are being sent back to the source, because it is a measurement of the positive peaks. Now when you click "show Negative......' below the center line is what is taken from the source, and above the line is what is being given back to the source.  Add  a 4mh inductor in series with the load, and look at the input shot now. More back to the source.  ;]



The sim program is great. Yes resistances and inductances and capacitances neeed to be added for real world specs. But if we cant get OU in an 'ideal' world, its gunna be harder to do it in the real world.  ;]

So dont fret when using the sim with ideal world parts. Because if you can get OU, then thats a real good start in my book.  I have some circuits I will post after work. All the kinks have been worked out.

Circuit Sim will bug out here n there. When it does, it is best to redraw the circuit on a rebooted sim window, or make a code save before running a circuit. The bugs will be saved in the code if you save it while its buggin.  ;]  I had had 1.1 gigawatts OU Marty!!

Yeah my input was 68 frigga watts from 5v source with 100 ohm resistor in series. 

But over all, Falstad is a great sim for trying things very quickely and you get relatively good answers.
