Ok So $1795 is still pricey.By doing it yourself you might get away with $300 to $400.But welding needs to be in your bag of skills.The first site I posted with a gasifier for sale says 2.5 lbs of wood equals one kilowatt.I guess one could find plans for a gasifier at the mother earth news website.I think all of their back issues are online?They did run a truck on it.Also first site I posted says an unmodified diesel engine will run on 80% woodgas.To run on 100% woodgas it needs a spark ignition. triffid

I designed them this way because the system is threaded as standard, no welding required. It simply just screws together with sealant, and therefore anyone can build it The parts are also 316 stainless steel and so will last forever. I know that the units are smaller but it will be very simple to run multiple smaller units in a modular system, connect them to a filter and gas manifold. The sum of the smaller units will equal a larger unit as the gas is combined before injection into the engine. You can also go for a petrol generator without having to modify it
