Hi Gadgetmall,

Thank you for your kind response and suggestions and congratulations on your very impressive 38-hour lighting period!

I have tried shorting out the diode and using the capacitor connections for output (and many other options) with zero response other than the red diode light coming on every time.  I bought two Fuji cameras together from the same supplier and I have just noticed that the boards are marked differently, one being A60 and the other A07.  Examining them fairly carefully, I can see no difference between the pcbs.

I have put a photograph of the top of the board at http://www.mediafire.com/?bxj459iiqg4im8w and one of the underside of the board at http://www.mediafire.com/?nu4wnnyvtwnaavg and if you wouldn't mind, would you please take a look at them as with your considerable experience working with these boards, you may be able to spot whatever mistake I must be making.  These boards are powered by a 1.5V AAA alkaline battery with the plus on the extended copper arm, which appears to be the reverse of the polarity of some of the other boards mentioned on the web.

I will show you in a little while with your pictures . This is an aaa 4th gen board .Seen them with aa same board also . 4th gen. they work good.smaller modified CFLS work real good but you can light 40 watt one too .you have to close a copper switch on bottom of this board with solder OR add wires with an on off switch if you want to put in in a case.A Strogn magnet sometimes near a FL tube helps get it lit and also Warming the cfl with a hair dryer helps also .
WARNING :discharge The Cap with a screwdriver before attempting anything !! Do not run this mod with more than 1.5 volts or you risk blowing your transistor . The Pot has a wiper and two outside legs . use wiper and one outside leg. for further tuning you can try different disk capacitors across the outside legs . also one way of the pot twisted is a direct short of the bias voltage and is wide open full blast so use that only to start a stubborn light then back it off a bit.

Note : If anyone else has a camera board they can get hi-res pictures of i can help you mod it. need front and back

They are tiny and thank you for the clear pictures . I don't have Macro on my 8meg droid camera because it's hacked ,cloned and a different operating rom is on it .Yes i am an xcell tech also  .
this is one of the first videos i did of a fugi . it has a "kick"switch which shorts the bias resistor for a second to light a stubborn light on a low battery. purple power Neon Neon ..
