   Guys:
   For those that can't get or don't want to use chemicals, magnetic ovens etz... I have made this cell out of an old capacitor cell with nothing more than beach sand and cement.  It output 55mA at 1.4 volts when first made and has been powering a red led for months with the help of a totally dead lithium battery that it charged to 1.5 volts using both together can light an led.  Although after 4 months it has lose 1/2 the current and some voltage it still outputs 30mA and 1.2 volts.  24/7. 
The other beer can cells output even more...

the problem is you're dealing with kilowatts or megawatts you are dealing in milliwatts. very puny results.

   These are small low cost practically free cells that give permanent light.  Not stadium lights, bud.  Nobody is trying to convince you to make them. It is for people that are interested in them,  like myself. Just showing what I've done, so far,  sorry it doesn't output megawatts. What does???

G'day aii,

Good work NickZ, cement has been a long time favourite of mine too . Have you checked out the earlier posts? How much moisture content do you think is left in your battery?

@ onthecuttingedge, what area of research or interest have you been involved with? We may not be powering the world with these things but they are fascinating nonetheless. Puny output or not, some of these batteries never run out.
